Job Summary:  The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing complex repair and maintenance functions of all Monastery property, grounds and equipment.

High School or Equivalent; Valid MN Driver's License; 3 years related experience required.
 

Essential Specific Job Duties

Assists in emergency maintenance tasks as required, e.g. snow removal according to standard procedures.

Performs seasonal care of Monastery owned properties including mowing, trimming, planting, digging, etc.

Performs regular and seasonal care of roadways, walks, and paths.

Trucks supplies, trash, recycle, etc.

Moves furniture, personal belongings, etc. as needed.

Cleans shop areas.

Checks fire extinguishers and smoke alarms.

Replaces light bulbs and requisitions new ones.

Assists in grave preparation.

Changes oil and filters on lawn equipment and minor repairs.

Paints walls, ceilings, etc.

Tills gardens.

Grades roads.

Knows and follows all Safety guidelines in all aspects of the job, including all guidelines, procedures, chemical hazards, SDS, etc.

Operates skid loader/back hoe.

Adjusts doors, closures and windows.

Performs routine furniture repair and restores, refinishes and refurbishes furniture.

Performs routine minor and major repairs on equipment.

Repairs walls and ceilings.

Adjusts lighting.

Adjusts televisions.

Performs carpentry, e.g. rough in and finish.

Performs routine and finish concrete and masonry work.

Builds and repairs cabinets, furniture and other woodworking projects.

Functions as a locksmith.

Performs roof repairs.

Trouble shoots and performs mechanical repairs.

Follows and supports all policies and procedures as established by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict.
